Rich and I started watching Cheers before we moved to LA and haven't stopped (we stream it on netflix)

We love it!

We watch at least 2 episodes every night, while eating chocolate and relaxing!

It is such a innocent show for being centered in a bar!

We love this show, it is hilarious, and no character is better than the next!

Also, in every show we have started watching, we always skip through the opening credits...this one, on the other hand, we watch every time and sing along! We both love the old time pictures and the song, you really can't go wrong with the song!

Honeymoon: Day 4

We woke up early to see that it was raining...the day of our big hike and it was raining...great.

 It was taking a long time and we were feeling tired and drained and we finally heard the cow bells and actually felt relief! It was pretty crazy!

We hiked up and over a mountain pass about 5 miles and then straight down for about 6 miles...with our packs on! It was an exhausting day!  We saw some amazing views and some interesting bugs and animals.

A long and rewarding day!

Honeymoon: Day 3

We woke up early, had our delicious Alpine Breakfast and headed off to the train station on our way to Adelboden.

We stopped in Spiez and we walked to a coffee shop and have the best drinks alongside a macaroon. So relaxing!

We took the train to Frutigen, and took a bus up to Adelboden.

We found our hotel and ate our lunch on the rooftop patio (cheese, bread, salami and mineral water from the coop).

Our view from the rooftop was spectacular. We saw a waterfall and decided to take another bus over to it and hike up to it!  That was an adventure!

We saw tons of cows!  We were so close to them it was a little intimidating!

We made it to the waterfall. It was stunning! So beautiful!

We went back to the hotel and we got some dinner and then headed to bed early because we were to rise early the next day for our big hike!

Honeymoon: Day 2

The water is drainage from all of the surrounding mountains. It is cold and crystal clear

 

 We woke up in Interlaken and we went downstairs and had the hotel breakfast.

Now, I know what you are thinking, continental breakfast...boring!

Not anywhere even close to that!

There was a brick of Alpine cheese, breads, pastries, delicious milks, juices, assorted meats, yogurts, cereal and granola and even an egg station where they would make you eggs of your choice from eggs that are farmed from their local chickens.

Oh. my. gosh. It was amazing and I am sad, looking back on it, that we didn't take any pictures. I am actually salivating as I type this!

Rich found a place in every city to do his cross fit workouts... :-)

We got ready and we went for a walk around Interlaken. We found a trail that we could hike to get our blood flowing. So we decided to do it. 

The views of the city were incredible and the mountain ranges around: breathtaking.

We had a beer at the top of the mountain and as we made our way back down, we had to, basically, run because it started to rain.

We made it back to the hotel in 1 piece and we got ourselves ready to go for dinner.

We stopped at a local restaurant and in broken Germen, we ordered the country's famous Rosti and Schnitzel.  Fabulously Delicious! We want to make it now!

It was a nice and calm day, which was exactly what we wanted!

Interlaken was beautiful and I definitely recommend it! 

At least for 1 full day!

We are so excited!

Honeymoon: Day 1

We landed in Zurich, Switzerland. After a long day of traveling, we were exhausted and excited to get started on our adventure....

From the beginning....

We purchased Swiss Train Passes to have unlimited access to the trains, buses, lifts and museums in all of Switzerland. We ordered them a couple of weeks in advance and were so excited because this was going to help us get around the country with ease.

Also, to prepare, we went to the bank and got some dollars converted into Swiss Francs and Euros.

On the flight from SAN to EWR we realized that we remembered the cash....however, to our horror, we did not remember the rail passes....

We touched down in EWR and immediately were on the phone with the rail company and browsing the website trying to figure out what to do....fortunately, we could return the unvalidated Swiss passes for a small fee, better than being out quite a bit of money, and we could purchase the passes in Switzerland.

Phew!

We get on the plane and cross over the Atlantic. I slept for most of the trip with Rich watched every movie and show that was played. We arrive early the next morning, picked up our packs, bought passes (for way more than we originally paid...oh well) and headed into downtown Zurich for a Rick Steves walking tour.

We did a quick tour because it was hot and humid, we were hungry and exhausted.

We decided to hop on the next train and we rode the train into Bern expecting to find a place to put our stuff down, relax a bit and enjoy our first night. Unfortunately, after visiting the tourist office, we sadly found out that every hotel in Bern was booked, except the 5 star ($500/night) hotels and camping on the outskirts in "boongalos" (the woman had the sweetest voice and said bungalow in the most endearing way!) We were not about to spend that much on the first night and we were too tired and wanting a shower to camp, so we hoped on the next train to Interlaken.


Fortunately, we were able to find a place in Interlaken to stay! We were hungry and exhausted.

We checked in to our room, put our stuff down, laid on the bed, and slept for almost 3 hours!

We got up, showered and decided to go out into the town and walk around and find dinner.

Fondue...we were tired...

We stopped at the first place we found and we ate the famous fondue. It was delicious! Definitely needed!

We did some more exploring and walking around and headed back to our hotel for a good nights sleep.

Update

So we are mostly settled and unpacked, which is amazing! 

A few updates:

My "Sweeter" has recently told me that he does not like that I use our nickname on the internet and he would rather me use his real name.  So, I will be using that from now on :-)

I am currently in the beginning stages of a job search! It is exciting, fun, stressful and long. I know that I can offer any company the world and that they will be glad to have an employee like me. Wish me luck! I had 3 interviews last week and I have a follow up 2nd interview tomorrow, which is very exciting!

We are waiting to get the DVD of our wedding photos so I can share more of our favorites! I am so excited! We want to get some enlarged and framed to hang on the walls in our apartment! Yay!

I will be writing about our honeymoon, sharing stories, pictures and videos!

The Message

The morning of the wedding I had a missed call from one of my long time friends.  I let the call go to voicemail because she is notorious for leaving me the most up beat, happy and sweet messages (and did I mention, they always rhyme?)

I recently got a new phone and all of my messages were erased, so I asked her if she had written it down and if she could send it to me.

Luckily, she had written it down and I thought I would share it with you all!
