Honeymoon: Day 14

We woke up late again and decided to head to Versailles, Paris and get out of the city for a break.

We got there and waited in a ridiculous long line, got our tickets and waited in another ridiculous long line.

We took a tour of the Palace. It was beautiful!  There is so much history!

We walked through all of the rooms and enjoyed most of all the famous Hall of Mirrors.

We took the tour for about an hour and started speeding through it and made our way outside on to the grounds.

The grass was green, the flowers were blooming, everything was magical!

 We walked around the gardens for a bit then headed back to the train station and back to Paris for a fancy dinner. This night happened to be our 1 month anniversary so we decided to splurge on a nice dinner with all of the cliche Parisian Courses :-)

We ordered wine, had escargot, creme brulee and ccafe au lait.  It was marvelous! We sat on the street and people watched and took our time eating!

We made our way back to the hotel, got our packs packed because we left the next day :-(

The Oregon Coast

Rich and I went up North to Washington and Oregon to spend some great, quality time with his grandparents.

We first went to Seaside. It was a beautiful weekend and a beautiful place. Rich and his family spent a lot of time in that area when he was a kid so hearing all of the stories and memories was really special for me!

We also went to Cannon Beach where we walked along to Haystack Rock. There were tide pools and when the tide is out you can really see a lot of Marine life.

 We took a helicopter tour of Seaside. It was awesome! I had never been in a helicopter before.

We also spent some time in the car along Hood River seeing the beautiful Columbia River, stopping at Vista Points, gawking at huge Waterfalls, admiring a fishery and its amazing fish, and driving across a ton or bridges ;-)

Herman the Stergen

 On our last full day there we went to the Air and Space museum where we took a mini tour of the Spruce Goose (a wooden ship built during World War II that flew for about 1 mile and that was it) we also got to tKe tour of other war planes and see some space memorabilia. It was all amazing!

The best part of the entire trip was that the weather was phenomenal! We were so lucky to have blue skies and perfect weather almost the entire time we were there!

We were so grateful to have the chance to go up and visit with them before school starts and I start work and things start getting crazy!

Honeymoon: Day 13

We woke up way late from being out late the night before and we walked down to the corner bakery and had chocolate croissants! Sooooooo tasty!

We headed to the Louvre and saw the Mona Lisa. It is much smaller that you would think it would be.... We pretty much powered through the museum just to see it and stopped at a few other key art pieces and got out of there. I love museums and I could spend hours and hours in them and Rich is not the biggest fan, so we didn't spend too much time in each one.

From the Louvre, we stopped at a little cafe and had some lunch and then headed over to Notre Dame.  We quickly went through the cathedral because there were millions of people in there!

After Notre Dame, we went to the Army Museum and saw Napoleon's Tomb. That was really cool!

We went to dinner and had amazing food! Rich had beef tar tar and I had lamb! Oh. My. Gosh. It was to die for!!

And to end the night, with the sun still shining at 9pm, we went to the Arc de Triumph. We were able to see it right as the sun was setting, it was gorgeous!

We ended up taking a taxi back to the hotel and we stopped at a restaurant in the square that our hotel was in and had some wine and cheese. It was so sweet and romantic!
